ok this is for opinions only.

I overheard a discussion at work that went like this.

person 1 says: nobody is perfect.

person 2 responds: well GOD is perfect.

person 1 says: true no doubt....but god is not a person.

the question for this poll is whether or not you view GOD as a person or and something else?

God is everything, including a "person". He is everything you want Him to be.

Very true.

God is everything everywhere. Mostly HE is within you as you are made in his own reflection, and you can talk to him any time in any fashion you want.

He created man in his own image. But He is not just a person. He made His Son to be a man so that he could walk on this earth among others. But that is as close to being a "person" that God has ever been.

okay... this is just an opinion...

I see God as the Trinity... God is the Father(creator of all things, etc...) He is a person through Jesus, and He is the Holy Spirit which is everywhere

that's what I believe.

I tell everyone the same thing . Don't go to church for your preacher to tell you what the Bible says and let him or her interprit for you . Pick up the book and read it for yourself .

I started that years ago ... and didn't skip even one word ... even through all the "begats!!!" O_o

As of now, I guess I would be a Jew, because I haven't made it up to the New Testament yet ... LOL!

But it's interesting how you get different interpretations if you read it on your own ... instead of just being a sheep and following the established translations.

Preachers can make things seem a bit more relavant (sp?) to a situation .... but the basic interpretation is a personal thing, I think.

I think god is a non-existent figment of people's imagination. Neither human, nor non-human, simply non-existent. If you hear the same story over and over, you begin to believe it is true. Same with god and the bible.

problem is Most people won't. and preachers have studied the bible, so if you Believe in God then it is good to go, hear and be taught.

Its like school, if we all could pick up the book and learn Algebra, we wouldn't need teachers to teach us, but not All of us are that Strong.

well... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I'm a believer, I've been too blessed to deny him. I decided I needed to read the "good" book when I moved here. I've read the entire new testament and am in Deuteronomy in the old. I think that once you read it it will change your life. I think a higher power has a hand on my life and I'm thankful.

I never try to change anyone's beliefs. If it works for you, that's great, keep it up. I have read the whole thing, and it did nothing for me. To each his own. My only beef is when people try to change my beliefs, or when people look down on me because I do not share their beliefs. I respect their right to believe whatever they choose, and would appreciate the same respect in return. As sad as it is, I have actually had pleasant conversations ended abruptly when religion came up and I mentioned my lack of belief. It was as if all of a sudden, after 15-20 minutes of good conversation, that they were too good to share words with me.
