not having cats is exactly why you got the CEL on. i wouldnt think v6 or v8 would be different. but see if any 6ers on here know for sure.

yes you need the MIL's but not if you put the cats back on.

Running without Cats right now is probably causing your car to run too Lean...so the CEL is on...once you weld in a set of cats, the CEL should turn off..... :jeff:

do you have the front O2's hooked up???...all the downstream O2's do is tell the comp if the cats are doing their job....if you have the fronts and not the rears then throw on some Sim's on the rear and reset the comp and it'll be ok...Len

I used the MIL for a Mustang on my Focus, just one though. I was running an off road header, no cat and it worked fine. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for your V6, its the same idea to change the reading the computer gets from the O2 sensor.
