Dear Traci:

We are about 2 weeks into basic now. It’s going by fast and I just want to get home to see my family and son. So far, it is what I expected, but I’m in the best company here and in the best platoon here! Alpha Company 2-13, Infantry Regiment, 3rd Platoon, aka Mad Dawgs. Our Drill Sergeants are always pushing us, which is good but no one really gets around with each other. Just certain people. But I like it. I’m already about 5 lbs lighter.

My graduation date is September 12th.
