Got Groan?

There's a TSB on the clutch packs for the S197's. Some might hear a groan during low-speed turns (turning into a driveway, hitting a U-Turn, ect...). Instead of taking it to the dealership and having to fight them because of my gears, I added 4oz. of friction modifier to the differential, and it cleared it up. Just thought I'd let you all know about this in case anyone's like me and avoids the dealership service like the plague.

PLUS...I've read where people have had the clutch packs replaced by the dealer, and the groan came back a few weeks later. So this should help save the headaches.

The only problem with this is it lowers the effectivness of the clutch pack ..

What the friction modifier does is let the clutches slip against each other easier so you get less torque bias in the rear end.

The groan is the clutchs trying to do thier job .. your hearing them slip on each other because they are trying to grab.

adding the extra modifier makes them slip much easier so no groan

If they had problems then the tech didn't do his job properly. The only time I ever have a problem with mods is if something is damaged because of them. Your gear install would not cause this.
