GT gauges questions

ok, so the kid that owned my 98 before put the white face gauges in but he screwed up two of the gauges and everything else is still kinda off. I can deal with the ones that are off abit but my speedo is way off and i have been trying to fix it with the help of police speed limit trailers. The temp gauge is completely junked and i am trying to see if anybody knows how to fix it or even somebody that does work on gauges. Somebody said some guy from Houston works on these, if so does anybody have his contact info?
Thanks

you mentioned that your speedo is totally off? I've installed 3 after market gauges - MAC white face(1997GT) and 2 indiglo faces(99GT/02GT). The simplest way to calibrate all needles/gauges after white face is installed is to have needles carefully installed when mustang engine is running (car obviously parked) but you have to be very carefull and gentle when installing needle. I would suggest letting your car idle for about 15 minutes so temp, oil pressure have fully risen and are accurate - depending if your temp gauge is not rising, it may not be salvageable. New face gauge kits usually come with a neat small tool that carefully "lifts" all needles from gauge shafts. In your case you can use a non-plastic eating fork. Gentelly install all needles (centered) except for speedo gauge and RPM gauge. It is very important to have your speedo needle installed laying against the rest pin. Have RPM gauge installed a tad under 1k RPM (assuming your stang doesn't have idle/surge problems). Heres a pretty convenient link to mustangworld that better describes the process of gauge install. Good luck...

It may be the sensor and have nothing to do with the temp gauge. If the temp gauge isnt moving at all I'd bet thats your problem.

looking at the engine, on the intake (in the coolant passage) to the left of the alternator is the coolant temp sender, the one to the right of the alternator is for the computer.
I have a pic if you need it!
