I'd listen to Paul. I'll take a shotgun any day for home defense over a pistol.........

I dont think the recoil is bad at all, without knowing what firearms you have fired, its hard to make a comparrison. Im 5'10 235 and would say its just a little more than the M16. At the PD we have very small stature female officers (and a few males LOL) and they have no issues handling it with 00 buck. I will be taking the wife out shooting to get her used to it. If you want to head out sometime and put a few rounds down range with it, let me know.

What does "threading" mean?

ex:

"It's at the shop getting threaded right now."

threading is putting threads at the end of the barrel to affix a supressor

its a rifle since it has a stock with a 16" barrel in a pistol caliber nice for closer quarters but are not considered a "assault rifle" because it uses a pistol round not a rifle round

eh would honestly stay away from something like that personally just because parts wouldn't be as easy to find, and i personally do not like the .38 round for personal/home defense as a primary, maybe as a backup but if i'm gonna buy something that shoots .38 i'll buy a wheel gun in .357 mag

and just to let you know(not trying to be an ass) but federal is a brand not a type of round
