lets put it this way. I would never run sportlines on a mustang unless it sat in a parking lot.

SS have the best visual drop and will ride much better with aftermarket shocks than a set of sportlines

sportlines are a "show" spring only IMO

I've got KYB AGX's which are adjustable and help with the firmness of stop and go like nosedive etc., but overall ride quality they seemed to make no difference and I assume it's because the sportlines that were already on the car just have a crappy ride. I wouldn't mind swapping mine out for some others with a better ride, and these seem to be a candidate! Mine is a daily driver, so my internals take a beating! Mine... not the cars!! Thanks for the opinion!

Struts & Shocks play a big role in the ride quality too so use some good one's. I just got some H&R SS Springs for my fox & now have to save for some quality shock/struts before I install them.

Thats what I was gunna do. I am also gunna replace the isos. Then get upper/lower control arms, so I can get traction. Even with 315 sumitomo's on 10.5 I still cant grip.

thats because they are the cheapest tire there is. If you get nittos 315s that wont be a problem. if its street tires, try a khum mx 285 on your 10.5s They are about the same width as nitto 315s

That might be some of the problem, but they wouldnt make that shitty of a tire.

um... they do.

mine would spin in 3rd on the highway. Its a good tire if you have just bought wheels and are out of money. It also lasted only as long as my nitto DRs because they spun so much in daily driving.

I had a set of the Sumitomos and they were terrible. I ditched them and got the Yokohama AV100's and it was like night and day. Granted I only get about 15K out of a set of the Yokohama's but for $112 each I can afford to buy a set of tires now and then. I drive the Coupe like I stole it...I figure the tires are cheap therapy and the grin factor is worth every penny.

There are other brands of tires out there other than the Yokohama's as well that are great tires like the Nittos. When your Sumitomos wear out do some shopping and try something different, you will be glad you did.

Thanks guys, I'll just walk to the money tree out back when they wear down. Besides the point, I still need a suspension upgrade.

lets see... people spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on mods. add power and get a little bit faster.

when it comes to spending 60 dollars more a piece on a tire that gives you more of a gain than your actual Mods by way of the traction and ability to put that power to the ground..... They skimp out.

Going from a street tire(which I constantly cut 2.0s on and ran 13.5s at 102-3 to a nittos drag radial netted me and instant 13.1 at 106 on the first pass and all passes to follow. I was the type of person who went at least 1 night a week to the track, so this isnt a fluke due to difference in weather and days.

The ability to put all your power down in 1st gear on the track and street makes it a totally different car.

I'll think about that once I get 295rwhp / 321 rwtq. For now, its not my main priority.

My thoughts exactly... it makes no sense to me when I see people putting all this money into power mods before anything else. IMO it should be opposite. That's why I did all my suspension, brake, and tire upgrades first. Handling makes all the difference whether you have extra power or not. I'm not a racer and have no racing experience, but it applies wherever or to whatever you drive.

No, I think he's just saying it's a far better tire and I agree. I've only had the Nitto 555. No drag radial for me. I got mine with the car when I bought it, but I run BFG's now. I also have UPR upper and lower rear control arms and it's a lot harder to purposefully spin the tires.

I agree that sumi's aren't the best, but Im not gunna change till the tires are at the end of the road.

I've had a lot of wheel hop since I took my quads off, but I think Im just going to flip the quads till I get springs, shocks and struts, etc..

Why'd you take the quads off? I know what you mean since you just got the tires... it's all just words of advice for next time. I bought all the parts piece at a time when I decided to upgrade. I don't have a money tree either!

This is what I am saying.

as soon as they are warm, spinning will not be an issue. Not at your power levels.

Now you wont be able to drop from 6k.... 4k at the track, yes.

after that uppers and lowers will just improve your ability to launch even better on the nittos.

my completely stock suspension I have pulled a best of 1.76 on nitto 555Rs and my evarage 60 is a mid 1.8. 1.7s come on days when they actually professionally prep the track at SAR
