h pipe to x pipe

Ive heard that you get more power from a x pipe than a h pipe.
Is this true or do they make about the same power???
(for a 4.6)

you wont feel the difference or nothing, but you should get a couple hp up top...maybe sacrifice a few down low.

Keep in mind that if your ride is lowered that a catted x will hang lower than an o/r h. Prolly wont tell a difference in hp unless you got forced induction.

I felt much more power with a Bassani O/R X than with a Prochamber, both low end and high.

supposedly, an h will give a little more torque(has better back pressure), while the x will give a little more hp up top.....to me the h sounds better on 5.0s while the x sounds better for 4.6 modular engines. Either way, you will most likely not tell a difference in power unless you put it on a dyno and even then you will only gain 2 or 3 more hp if you're lucky. I would go with what you like the sound of better since you notice that constantly.

the only one that has actually shown a controlled variable gain is teh x pipe in the high RPMs

so if you have a 4 valve or a high reving 2 valve or a vortech car.... try the x if you like the sound.

of course there is always the debated king of midpipes... the prochamber

i love it.
