Had a run-in with a cool Ricer

I went to wal-mart to pick up some things I needed, when I was parking I heard an integra w/ black rims roll by and saw that it had an intercooler. Like always I parked like 3 spots away from everyone else like I always do and he parked a couple spots in front of me. I asked him if he had a turbo, he said ya and asked me how I knew and I said I saw the intercooler. We talked a little more and after that I just went in and got my things. When I was leaving he was walkin out too. We talked a little more and he asked me if I wanted to run. So I followed him out and we lined up and at about 15 mph he honked it off and we took off. This was the first time I had ever raced my car and I had it in second gear we stayed even for a couple seconds then he started spooling up and he pulled like 2 lengths up to 50 where we shut down. I said lets run again this time so that I could be in 1st gear so again we were at about 15-20 mph and he honked and we took off I pulled about a 1/2 length and then missed the 1-2 shift and he blew by me. So we went one more time but I honked it off this time I jumped out about a length in 1st gear, at about 50 we were even then he was gone, by 75 where I shut down he had like 3-4 cars on me. We pulled off and chatted a bit, he said he said he did all the work himself and he just finished it and he was only runnin like 5 lbs of boost. Pretty cool guy I said nice run and that I'd see him around and I came back home. I was pretty psyched even tho my first racing experience was a loss :gil: Now I've decided that I definately need a short throw shifter and a vortech :jeff:

turbo tegs can run in the 13s if done right!!! Sounds like this guy did right... and he doesn't seem to be much a ricer if he had the power to back up the look of the car!!!

Good loss... no shame!!!
