Unhappy HELP!!!

Ok, its official... I need help with my car.

The starter is connected to the transmission and for some unknown reason its magically held on by the bolts we already took off. So I'm calling for reinforcements. Today and/or tomorrow I need anybody and everybody who can to come help my dad and I get this stupid tranny off.

Also if you know of how to take the starter off, that info would be useful.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

the one whole side is loose but the side with the starter is magically stuck in place. And hitting it with a hammer isn't workin either.

there was a blind bolt on the top of the starter on my vert....i dunno if you got one of those....otherwise, like they said, lots of lube and a coulple of blows by a hammer or mallet should jar it free.

yeah its off now that bolt actually was there but I didn't read this until after we found that bolt. We managed to break the aluminum around the bolt and it dropped down till we could find the bolt. If you follow that.
ANYWAY
The tranny is off and now I can replace the clutch and somehow manage to get the whole shebang back together without any extra parts!

Hopefully I can get it fixed and back on by tomorrow night.

Got a lot done in my two days off. Its all back together with the exception of the exhaust. I hit a snag because there was only one gasket for the upper exhaust and it was beat up. So a quick stop tomorrow morning to Jordan Ford for a couple gaskets and then it should only take me about half an hour to get the pipes back on. After that I've just gotta jack the car back down off the stands and give her a test drive before work!

Thumbs down

OK got everything done and I even washed it and when I went to take a spin around the block I discovered it won't drive. Its a mix between the clutch not being tight enough and an exhaust leak. The exhaust leak makes it sound like a drag car but apparently its a problem. So unless the old man and I can fix it after I get off work tonight... I won't be able to take it to the beach

There should only be ONE if I'm not mistaken.

Yup. The driver's side should be a ball and socket. It's self sealing. The passenger side should have a metal gasket.

Damnit why didn't I look on here when I was arguing with my dad about how it only had one before so why would it make a difference to continue only having one...

anyway I got it all fixed although I haven't gotten to test drive it because I'm not tryin to wake up the whole neighborhood. I apparently didn't have the passenger side tightened down enough and the catback wasn't perfectly lined up (as far as the bolts are concerned). So it's all better now and SHOULD be good to go. GOD I HOPE IT WORKS NOW!!! If it works and it doesn't rain tomorrow I'll be commin back on Sunday with a nice tan
