Help!

Hello,

I am having a problem with my 1966 mustang. Ive taken it to a few different auto shops, and they are saying two very different things. My engine is making a knocking noise when it 1st starts up, and It is smoking out the back really badly and no one can seem to fix it. Does these things mean I have just an oil leak somewhere or do i need to get the engine rebuilt? Any ideas?? Info? Thanks.

Most likeley you have a worn engine. Sounds like your bearings and oil pump are worn causing low oil pressure at start-up. The smoke out the exhaust is due to worn rings or bad valve guides. I would have your oil pressure checked and a compression test preformed to verify your problems.

isn't if it only smokes at start up, its the valve guide seals
If it smokes under a load or while driving or all the time, its the rings and/or seals

seems like its just worn out to me
