HELP!!!!!!!

OK here's the issue my VATS or PATS system will not let me start my car. The other night I was driving to the store, right up the street from my house it just stopped and I couldn't start it. Any idea's of how to bypass this or how to reboot the system. Or if I cant do that any idea's of when I can have it fixed.

Tks in advance for any help......ppr

Have you tried locking and unlocking again via remote?
I know mine (factory) has a valet button way up under the dash which you press and it will start.

Other wise try pulling the neg batt lead to reset the comp.

If yours is a 96, try to cycle the key about 10 times to 'relearn'.
Otherwise, you will need to get it towed and reprogrammed.
There is NO bypassing the circuit without extensive modifying and multiple resistors inline to do so. And it is called PATS.

Something in the PATS system went crappo, prolly the key. If you have a spare transponder key for that car try it. If not you can try banging your key on something hard and it may get you to a dealer. I have been seeing a lot of transponders going bad on the older Fords lately. LUK
