    HELP ! Exhaust

My new 03 Mach 1 has a Magnaflow catback - WAY WAY too loud for me....

What is a good flowing - quiet exhaust for the 4 valve motor with a catted x pipe?

magnaflow is about the quietest out of all the aftermarket CB's, other than stock. You can always get a Bassani CB and leave the baffles in. Bassani is pretty expensive, even the BX(aluminized) series will cost ya $570.00ish, stainless $760.00, both not including shipping.

You have the packs. They are round looking as opposed to the magnaflows which are just like a standard muffler.

You can get the magnaflows for about 350 shipped brand new and are a hell of a lot quiter than the packs. At 70 on the highway, it is just as quite as stock.

Then you have SSS, slp's, borla, bassani, mac.... Look on youtube for soundclips to pick the sound you like.

I like the magnaflows as well. Nice and quiet all the way around unless you go WOT. Some people like the obnoxious loud all the time, but i find it annoying.

You have to have Magnapacks. If you switched over to flows, you would probably be happier.

My mach has the magnapacks with the stock h back on it and i need it louder again. It used to have an off-road h with the packs and it was loud but the tone wasn't good. With the packs and the stock h the car sounds pretty good though. Not loud when you are just cruising around and sounds nice and strong when you get on it a little.

Agree with above. Quieter catbacks: flowmaster 3 chamber (50 series), magnaflows, slp powerflo

You should probably change your mid pipe while you are at it. From what I have seen x-pipes will probably give you the most gains but tend to be loud and with a higher pitch raspy sound (sounds great at WOT , but obviously makes more noise than you want ). A H pipe or a prochamber might be better for you as it tends to be a little quieter and tends to have more of a rolling, rumbling sound. From what you describe this seems to be what you want. You can put some SLP high flow cats (no welding required) on any mid pipe you get for emissions.
