I bet the high beam filament is blown on both bulbs since it would be fairly rare for that entire circuit to go out. If possible find a bulb that is known to be be good. Put it in one of the lights and see if the high beam works on it. Since you're in S.A. I have one of my stock bulbs that is still good that I'll lend you to try out. What part of town do you live on?

Isn't there a high beam fuse? Not sure, but I thought there was. If not, I've got some silverstars somewhere that you can have for like $10 if u want them and also the stock sylvanias for $5 if you want those. I didn't have them on very long, maybe a couple months. I got projector HIDs, so no need. Only thing is I have to find them, so let me know if you're interested. I'm in the same area as you off of 1604 and redland.

Well I don't cruise 1604 too often, I'm usually more around the airport area, up and down nakoma/jones-maltsberger daily to and from work. I just attempted to look by looking around at boxes, but didn't open any... HAHA. Let me know if that's what you need though, because I have both sets... but they were lost in the move over the summer... somewhere.

Yeah, as u can tell... I don't wanna look, so I'll just wait til u give me the word. I'm pretty sure the silverstars are in the garage still inside the factory headlight assembly. I know where those are... just not sure about the stockers.

Get a test light and see if you even have voltage on the high beam circuit at the head lamp connector before you drive all over town. I could be the multifunction switch or other things, not just the bulbs. I am only saying this as I don't think I have ever had two go out at the same time though it is very possible.

That's why I mentioned the fuse because pretty much all cars I've seen have a fuse for high beams. The fuse would be the quickest easiest check and should be the starting point of the check IMO. But if that looks good, then onward with the test light!!!

high beam fuse is located in fuse box under steering column? or in engine bay - I'll be looking into this

I would guess it's under the dash, but it's just as likely to be under the hood. I've got a Haynes manual in my car, and my owners manual, so I can check one after work.

EDIT: I just checked right now when I got home from the bar since I had my owner's manual handy and there is a fuse #38 in the passenger compartment for high beams. Check that first and then go from there. Hope this helps!
