what you can do is hook the sound to come through the Receiver and then hook all the other items to the receiver

you said time warner right?

there should be a "audio out" or "optical out" on the time warner box. Find that.

look on the back of the receiver for either "audio in", or "optical in".

NOw whichever you find you can use, however optical would be the preferred method if he is getting HD signal at his place. For audio out take a pair of white/red cables and hook them into your respective spots. for optical you need the fiber optic cable to run in between the two.

after either of these are hooked up you should be receiving audio for regular tv out of the sound system, however you probably will need to change the "source" on the sound systems receiver unit in order to tell the receiver where to "receive" the sound from.

lol i dont know why either. my dad opened everything up and got it all out of the boxes and stuff before i got to it, i think that yellow cable i was talking about might have been the optic cable. i think that had i been the one to open it all up and get it started i woulda had a much easier time lol

yeah man that can/will happen, some of the new hires at my store did that, we made them figure it out too so they would learn what its like for the customer to be in that situation
