home theater installation

so i ran up to best buy a while ago and bought my dad a surround sound system for fathers day, and weve been trying to set it up since then but we cant figure it out. best buy charges out the ass to get it done, so i was wondering if anyone here could help me out. im willing to pay $100 to whoever can come set it up for me. my number is 210-870-9896. ill most likely be out tomorrow lookin at bikes so gimme a call or text. this is the link to the system if it helps any? lol

what are you having trouble with? it looks like it should be one of the more friendly systems to hook up...it didnt come with color coded connections? what all did you actually get hooked up so far?

ya it came with color coded connections and i had them all hooked up but it wouldnt make any sound? + theres like wires out the ass that i dont know what to do with lol



and Tim, he lives in an apartment and doesnt have an attic... unless you call the ppl above him an attic?

maybe a setting if its all hooked up, maybe a sound field setting or something...now if there is even one wire sometimes that isnt connected it can effect the whole shit...we've run into that before. Where do you live anyway?

Anyway you can take some pics of the back of the main unit and post them up? Maybe by just looking at it we can see if theres something incorrectly hooked in...

thats true also alot of the times if it has several imputs for sound in the back they are assaignable to diffrent functions for example my receiver has HDMI, rca, composit and optical in and i can select what input i want to use for the TV mode and which one i want to use for DVD or CD...... you know what i mean? and if you have your tv hooked up to it through optical and its set to the RCA inputs then there will be no sound... check that and let me know if that helps you out...

ill be more than willing to help you install it. i have a 7.2 set up in my house but im only running 4.2 right now because of the way the room is set up. Thats an all in one box and is really easy. Where do you live, if its too far all i ask for is the amout in gas.....

TTT sorry to bring back old thread but i need a little bit of help. i got it working through the DVD player that it came with, but it wont work on the regular TV, i dont know what wires im going wrong with lol?
