Horseback Riding, Bryan/CS or maybe north Houston

Looking for a good place to go horseback riding with a lady friend. Of course, I would prefer somewhere in Bryan/College Station area, but if there is nothing good around this area, I would be willing to drive to the northern houston areas.

Thanks!

State Parks are always good choices for escaping the Real World ...

Horse rental? Haha, I've never ridden.. I think I need something more like:
"The dumbass' horse riding escapade w/ tour guide"

Yeah, if they just gave me a horse and set me on my way, I'd be screwed...

I took my daughter, for her eighth birthday, to some Dude Ranch out West of San Antonio ... (five years ago?) And it was pretty fun. The horses are docile and nothing scary or exciting happened.

A trail guide leads the way, and a trail helper follows the last in your group to make sure no one gets lost or dies ...

250 lb weight limit, and they'll toss your asssss on a scale if you appear to be fibbing!

I think it was something like $200 for four horses for a 1.5 hour ride? I may be mistaken, it's been a long time ago!

I like their first paragraph! LOL!!

How cool would it be for a bunch of us to go riding? Put the steel ponies to rest for a weekend and go ride some real ponies!

Haha, that does sound pretty fun Blitz, however this will be a hopefully romantic get away this time. Maybe next time if we like the place enough, we'll get some of the LSSers together!

Haha, well.... things changed.
Long story short, we're friends...

Anyways, I've been going out riding every chance possible now and have met some pretty damned cool people out there. Going riding against Friday and Saturday.

Ahhh. I am sorry to hear that it didn't make her swoon ...

Well, if you've found something you like doing, then it will be a wonderful way to run into folks who already have at least one thing in common with you ....

OK, so what's the scoop on the riding itself? Costs? for how long of a ride? What do you need to know? Where is it? Any minimum age limit?

That might be something fun to line up for a cool Fall outing ...

Maybe LSS can invade your peace and quiet!
