well so far i have only worked minimally with Oracle. it doesnt seem all that complax just very tedious in designing. i guess its the amount of time i have spent using the ever so easy to use Access that anything without a GUI like such is kind a pain. SAP ive never used but i learn fast and the good thing is Exxon does a lot of training for new employees

ok guys i know i have pushed this button sometime ago but im curious how has the crime level gone in houston. is it increasing at an alarming rate is it leveling off and looking like it will decrease, whats the deal? the reason i ask is i keep reading these apartment comments on the reviews left about the apartments. so many of the reviews have been that the crime is horrible in the area and i thought the medical area was really nice at first but after the reviews im a bit unsure now

I'm on t he east side of Houston in a house. I've been on that side of town for eight years and have had no problem! Any place in Houston isn't 100% crime free. Even the nicest area unless it's a gated community. The medical area is OK, but so is Kingwood and there is crime there too. I have a very nice house and in a great neighborhood. Some of my friends have apartments and it's a typical apartment. What is it your worried about? If you have crack head people living near you then the crime is most likely going to be higher. If you’re so paranoid then maybe you should look for a million dollar house in the galleria area. Sorry but you seem like this is the worst city in Texas. It's really not that bad. I think it's how you present and hold yourself. Try living in Miami for four years, that's bad down there. Sorry I'm just an asshole! ![]()

oh yeah im not saying houston is the worst im just trying to lessen my chances. i know there is no way to be 100% crime free but the lower the chances the better. |

there are crackheads everywhere.
Any place away from the metro line will be your best bet. There are quite a few places with lower residential crime, but you won't be right next to work. clear lake, deer park, sugarland, woodlands, crosby, etc..

i drive from deer park to greenway plaza downtown everyday.
it takes about 20-40 minutes depending on traffic. no loud stereos or young highschool punks in my neighborhood. oh ya, deer park also has one of the higher average household income in the south east harris county area.

personally, i would just go anywhere that will let you take a 6 month lease.
it is way too hard to help you our since you don't even know where you will be working.

You will love the Houston area!!
I live in the metroplex now, had to move back here so my wife could be with her mom. Her mom had terminal cancer. We are staying because our kids/grandkids have move in the area now. I will tell you this....we loved the Houston area...night life was great. The traffic....well you can always find a short cut somewhere. The people in the Houston area are great folks! We've been away from Houston for 9 years now, but some of our best friends are still in Houston! Good Luck!
