How Much Power? Stock? Boost!!

I am thinking about buying a Turbo kit, or maybe a Whipple or a Kenny Bell.. I just can't decide on which one to buy yet, But I would like to know how much RWHP my 2005 will handle with a stock bottom end, BUT still streetable?

I would like to get 500 rwhp! Is that too much? The car will not be driven daily tho......So what do you guys think?

listening to a lot of people that have gone FI you dont wanna go above 500 crank HP on the stock bottom end on the s197s. so around 450rwhp. there are about 5 people over on mustangforums.com that have blew their motor going 500rwhp

I'll tell you one physics lesson.

all things equal, air volume and temp, etc etc the turbo will make more power... before breaking.

if you are making 450 rwhp on a s/c the motor is actually having to make more power than that because it drives the s/c and that requires HP.

a turbo creates no parasitic drag on the crank. In otherwords, a 450rwhp turbo setup is less strenuous on the motor than a 450rwhp blower setup, (which might actually be making 470 horses)

did I explain that well enough?

The 3v block is as strong as, if not stronger than the Teksid block... should be able to handle a decent bit.

the block can handle it but not the internals. It seems that most people stop searching for more power between 400-450rwhp.

the 05 is stronger then the later motors with proper tunign 450 is safe on it no worries 500 is doable i made over 550 for a year with mine before i finaly killed it due to nitrous on top of the boost.

however to make 500 rwhp your looking at fuel system upgrades upgraded exhaust etc etc.
if you want to make 500 rwhp its just a good idea to build the short block

any of the available centri kits will get your 470 rwhp with the intercooled ones an the kb whipples will get you 450 ish but with superior torque and a more fun to drive package.
its realy realy hard to beat the whipple ford kit for bolt on and forget it fun .

currently delivery times on whipples ar about two weeks for the order to be filled by whipple
on the 05 your looking at a price for the kit of 5580.00 i think you will find that to be a very good price if you look around

Whipple 2007 GT W140ax Intercooled HO 10-12 PSI Kit (Black) [WK-200754B] - $5,775.99

if you can find better please let us know and we will do our best to match it you will not find a shop in texas with more experiance with the s-197 then us.

your looking at flat rate of about 50 bucks for shipping it comes in two 50 pound boxes.

The kit will include every last thing needed
the blower the manifold the intercooler the heat exchanger the pump the hoses the inlet tubing the mass air the filter the programer and a complete gt-500 fuel system with two pumps and a second fpm for the vehicle as well as fuel injectors ..

100 percent everything to complete the instalation and tuning for the vehicle.
