you'll need spacers for the 351 heads they're only like $30 from summit.. just look up trickflow headbolt spacers

Unless the 351W heads are the 69-70 version , there is no real difference in the two heads other than the bolt holes and I think the chambers are bigger on the W heads . Personally , I would not waste the money or time on porting the W heads to install them on a 302 unless they are the 69-70 version .

Find some E7's , grab some beer and go to town on them . My neighbor and I did some E6's a couple of weeks ago for his car . At first , I was thinking he was wasting his time doing it but after a couple of hours , they ended up pretty decent for what they were . His car went from a 13.70 on a good night to a 13.60 on a hot day . I think over all he picked up a couple of tenths porting them .

Yeah I know . I was saying he could find some more and port them to swap out if he's trying to reduce his down time . Other wise , just port the 302 E7's and slap them back on . I have found that milling the heads a little to bump the compression is worth the effort and will help with some power as well .

I highly suggest not spending time having your heads ported. Either be patient and maximize yoru current combo with all the boltons and a tune OR get a set of stock gt40Ps for 250-350 like I did and bolt them on. If you have a dremel, you can grind off the thermactor bumps in the exhaust.

let me help you out on this, if you have an extra set of heads and no cash they are well worth porting out! you can get good gains to about 5k with a set of ported e7...ask me how i know

I agree as long as you are either doing them your self or have a friend that ports for beer . If you do it right and have a good valve job done , install correct springs and retainer for the cam and have to pay someone to port them , you might as well find some good used Gt40's or after market aluminum heads .

There are a few quick stock headed combos out there just like there are guys running 12's on very basic combos but they are few and far between . Your average car will not run like that .

i agree with these guys, go with the bolts on till the last thing u need is the heads, save the cash and invest in some nice after market heads, your'll get way better numbers with um that any ported stock head......its gonna cost some good money get those stockers to flow as well as a aftermarket head.......not saying it can't be done, cause a few out there have done it........save the money and buy some good heads is way to go.

let me help you out on this...

you need a valve spring remover, you need a dremel or air tools and a compressor, all the necessary bits, chemical cleaner and all the time you will spend working on them as a first timer. Your opportunity cost is that you could be working and earning money for better heads inetsad of porting.

my cost comparison was based on him having a budget porter do his heads. He would be better off buying gt40ps

dont forget the milling to get the e7s even close to the compression of the gt40Ps

Ill take the good gains to 6k with my Ps thank you.
