I'm in Kuwait
Hey guys I'm just checking in. Thank y'all so much for the care package. It came in a couple days ago. Unfortunately it was while we were offloading from the ship to Kuwait, so I had to give most of it away, but most everything we found a use for. It meant a lot to me and thanks Tim for making it possible. A cousin of mine sent me a 2 liter apple juice container full of crown royal... what a great guy... but your care package was a close #2. :-)
We push into our area of operations soon and it looks like it'll be a sticky situation, but that's why we train as we do. Not really nervous, just anxious... For those of y'all that don't know me I'm a grunt marine. We stopped in Guam where I scuba dived like crazy for three days (three reef dives, and three wreck dives with pics!... a WWI german ship, WWII jap ship, WWII jap seaplane). After that we stopped at singapore and i tried to experience as much japanese, chinese, and malaysian culture as i could in three days. I discovered REAL chinese food and it is to die for. singapore was great, but girls are much more shy there and the booze is way expensive, so.... those are two things i cannot tolerate. BUT i was the best dancer on the dance floor because NO ASIAN GIRLS CAN DANCE there. if an asian girl finds this offense, you can come to my place when i return as we can dance and you can prove otherwise. THe singapore zoo was awesome too, and the night safari was badass... flying foxes, hyenas up close, tigers, etc. Well I'm off to Iraq! austin Last edited by tire; 05-27-2007 at 02:21 AM. |

yeah, i do... i want a few trained dogs to go dig on possible IEDs and set them off. realistically though powder gatoraide and 5.0mustang/mm&ff, a scuba magazine, etc. don't feel compelled to sent anything though man y'all obviously spent a lot of money on the last one... i feel kinda guilty actually.
take that back... alcohol and hook ups is what i want when i return. btw i will be in SA for prob a day, maybe two during my leave (vacation). i'll go on a limb and commit now... hey jeff 'member you said i could stay over ANYTIME? :-P austin |

it's no problem! Vicki and Jen(firstmom and ezblonde) helped me out a bunch too, so it's not just me doing it

then thanks vicki and jen! yeah, there was some kind of weapons/gun magazine (i figured you sent it... i'm not a big fan of guns, actually, but i tried to learn new things and i read a lot of it anyways), and a 5.0&ff, and another stang mag.
and thanks for the offer on booze. my tolerance when i return will be so little it shouldn't make a dent in anyone's wallet anyways. final planning and briefing is tomorrow. today looks like the last day of a/c and good food (how i hate mre's). |

it is 10am and its 108 deg. yesterdays' high was 113 and texas is starting to look pretty chilly right about now. running around in this hurts more than it ever has back in the states. 1/2 of us puked. see y'all.
