I Need Help Getting to Houston Drift Event
This is pretty much a desperation move but desperate times call for desperate measures....
Here's the deal: My name is Doug Van Den Brink and I'm based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm attempting to compete in this year's Formula Drift Championship. Since I'm a rookie (in their series), I've got to place well in one of their "Qualifying Events" before I can enter the Championship. The closest one to me is next weekend in your great Lone Star State http://www.driftday.com/frames.htm. The Houston Greyhound track will be the site of some real exciting, tire smoke'n action that the sport of Drifting is becoming famous for. It's a 2-day event with practice on Friday and the competition on Saturday.... The challenge for me is that with my truck, it's going to take more gas to get there and back than I've got cash for. What I'm looking for is a local Speed Shop, Mustang Club, Car Dealership or anybody else out there for that matter that would be interested in putting their logo or name on my car for the weekend in exchange for some Gas and Hotel money? I know this might sound crazy but as you can see from the pictures below, I've got a really nice Mustang that can really put on a show. I finished tied for 2nd in last years Amateur National Championships and I can guarantee you, we'll make all you Mustang owners proud!! So if you’d even remotely consider this or know somebody/some business that this kind of exposure could help, please drop me a line and I’ll fill you in on more of the details…. Thanks in advance for not bashing me here while I try to make the near impossible happen…. My list of Mods is pretty extensive so I'll just share with Ya'll what I just finshed last week: Stock (for now) Explorer Long Block STS Remote Turbo System Custom fabricated by CP Racing in Charlotte, NC STS Boost Controller GT 67 Turbo Aeromotive Fuel delivery system Fox Lake P-51 Manifold 90mm MASS Dragon 75mm Throttle Body 42lbs. Injectors Tial WG & BOV Active Radiator Custom Intercooler Chicane Sport Tuning dual-pass Radiator & Fan Kit SCT Tuning software Tuned by CP Racing Quarter Master Aluminum Flywheel & Extreme Aluminum Pressure Plate Here's a pic of our new Chicane Sport Tune Radiator that will solve a lot of cooling issues.... except for moving the ABS block back a few inches and fabing-up a new top hose, it was a direct bolt-in deal. Came with a nice wiring package as well... The car as you see it here was just shot for a feature article in the June issue of 5.0 Mustang Magazine..... Do'n all this in such a big hurry to make the acticle deadline has a lot to do with why my "travel funds" are a bit low right now..... Thanks Ya'll, DV
