I need help with the Mach 460 soundsystem

Well the Headunit in my Mach460 soundsystem won't load cds or even play them. So now I decided that I would just like to get an aftermarket one to update the car to play the ipod and have better sound.. My problem is that I have heard on 1999-2004 Mustang's with the Mach system sometimes they dont work very well with aftermarket headunits and the sound quality is worse than stock and not loud.. Does anyone know if this is true?
Also I am interested in this headunit and was wondering what everyone thinks about it?

In my opinion you should just run a whole new set up. Get the new HU and either run new speaker wires or the whole amp/ wire combo.


I don't remember what makes it so hard to add a new HU, something about the stock speaker impedance and or the way the stock amps get their signal.

They make plug and play wiring connectore for it but i never used them.

you can run it. i have a aftermarket pioneer in my car. its just a little harness adapter in the back to interface with the mach system. cost me like 25 bucks at best buy.
