Depending on how much boost you are making , I would go with the Felpro 1011-2's .

Does anyone here run the cometic head gaskets?? I ran a set on a few pontiac motors a while back. They are pricey but you can get them in all different sizes and they are great. Im new to ford so not sure what everyone runs but just a suggestion!

Head studs and having the heads O ringed is a good idea when running boost. I have blown a big section out of a new gasket when the heads were O ringed. We had an intresting light show under the hood that night that could be seen through the opening in the rear of the cowl. I use the copper gaskets for my car, but I would not suggest using them with out O ringing the heads. I have heard and seen many people have good results with the factor graphite gaskets which all of Ford's gaskets are made by Felpro. I used only the 1011-2 felpro gaskets before I had my heads O ringed. I have also heard that the Cometic gaskets are good, but I can tell you from experiance that stamped steel gaskets require a very slick head and block surface, Ford use to tell us if you could feel any machining or tool marks by running a finger nail over the surface, it was too corse, it would not seal. I had already found this out the hard way on a few 4.6s and other engines that use stamped steel head gaskets. I would either O ring the heads and get some head studs or get use to changing head gaskets.

The car is still street driven, with a best of 10.21 at 131 mph with a 1.51 60' spinning lightly. With this combo it made a best of 460 hp and 410 lbs of torque at the wheels.

Yeah they should work fine as long as you don't go lean on the tune . Kotzur racing heads or Mission should have them in stock .

My theory was I rather pop a gasket than fry a ring, thats why I never used any special types of gasket. It just depends how well your car is tuned and if you know how to work on your own car. Felpro kick ass.

If thats the case, then I wouldn't pour much money into head gaskets

I run a multi layer steel gasket, figure if its good enough for nascar its good enough for me. Cometics have good combustion seal, but heard from a few people running them that they develop coolant leaks.

Sorry to hear about that, Im suprised a gasket gave out on your. I used the Felpro 9333's. They are great gaskets and come recommeded by people running more boost than the vert. I would either stick with them and switch to head studs instead of the ARP bolts that are there now. Before them, I had the felpro 1011's I believe and had one blow because of fire ring seperation.

I ran the Felpro 9333's also..i heard a little trick to was to paint them with high heat silver paint and let it dry, which i did and ARP studded the block, i had no issues whatsoever with that setup...

its nice that you have iron heads in this case. I would just run the felpros with that level of boost.

are you shooting for around 350-380 at the wheels? you should be in the neighborhood on a safe tune
