Ideas and feedback

Well, since my rear end is in for an upgrade. I am thinking very hard about upping my gears from 3.73's to 4.10's. Also, instead of an Auburn, I am thinking about an Eaton Posi. What do all the track racers think? Will it improve my times at all with the 4.10's? Gas mileage is not a concern.

With the 3.73's, I was shifting into 4th at the end of the quarter. From what I have been told and read, it's best to be in the power band in 4th as you cross the 1/4. What are ya'lls thoughts?

Thanks

on the bottle I dont think you'll gain much with the 4.10's.

also, are you going to upgrade to 31 spline axles/diff or just replace the diff?

Will probably upgrade to 31 spline axles and differential. Will also be going with the Eaton posi, no matter what. So, N/A, the 4.10's will help?

I have done 1.8 60ft.'s with factory goodyears and 4.10's and have a buddy that was pulling 1.7's on nitto's (not dragradials)....how much you spin is due to how you launch...

3.55's are a waste unless you have a high RPM car with alot of power (I.E. turbo) or are running a powerglide...

3.73's are ok..best for blower /turbo cars with a 5spd.

4.10's for auto cars...or Mod 5spd's that like to race

4.30's more hardcore mods....and high revers...

I like my 4.10's. I love the improvement in acceleration, and I saw a bit better ET with nitrous on the 4.10's.

1.8! wow, my street tires aren't as good, only get 2.2's so far with the 4.10s. As for my opinion, go with 4.10s, I'm sure those huge ass tires of yours will get you traction Mitch.

I belive those tires might be the reason for the demise of the rearend. I have a pair of them but havent tested them at the track yet.

No I have a pair of the Khumo V7000s that Mitch was running when he grenaded the rear thats why I am unsure of running at the track before a rearend upgrade.
