Wow, that's in depth! Great write-up!

I want to stress the importance of having different shims available than the stock shims. Both Motive and FRPP gears need aftermarket shims or they'll whine like a biotch (trust me).

I just ordered a set of FRP 3.73's but don't have the heart to attempt this install, lol...

Now I just need to find a good shop to handle it...

I Also have CMCV deletes coming, have you done those yet?

so in order to save 210 $ you were with out your car for 5 days ?

for a job that would be a 3-4 hour turnaround and cost 210 in labor at a shop.

Now some people enjoy doing the work themselves, it is much more rewarding.
I enjoy the work, but for $210, I think I might take it to a shop.

Some people take pride in working on their own cars...especially if they have the means to do it. Why pay for someone else to do something if you can do it yourself, have the desire to do it, and plus you learn in the process. Thats half the fun.

Uhm the stang is a toy to play with! with three other cars and a motorcycle I was not in anyway in a hurry to do it, the biggest time was spent taking the pics and replaying to the forums (and getting up from under the car every 15mins to get a Mickeys)If I diddent have the tools etc. I would have taken it to a shop. But then again doing it yourself is fun and that’s the cool part of having a HOT ROD!!!
    And $$$ i saved..I bought me a nice watch

just wanted to add, on the pinion torque- the MINIMUM torque is 140ft lbs to crush the "crush sleeve" and it takes really more than that to get it crushed right.

You have to "crush" the sleeve and then check pinion drag with a inch lb torque wrench. 16-28 inch lbs.

If you have to have a torque wrench to "crush" the sleeve, hit it to the tune of 150ft lbs. and don't reuse the old crush sleeve!

Runs 11.93's @ 114 mph. With 3300lbs~!
