Installing tachometer

I picked up an tachometer for my car about a month ago and have yet to install it. I'm waiting til my dad helps me install this GM Style HEI distributor moddified for ford 289/302.

I was wondering if anyone here has installed on and where I could run the wires throught the firewall, and also where I could locate a wire that would turn the light on when I turn the lights on like at night.

The light wire you need to find is the one that comes off the Headlight switch and sends power to your dash lights. Simple matter of using a test light to find the correct lead.
As for passing the wires thru the firewall you should be able to find a hole in the firewall if not drill one but use a rubber grommet to avoid chaffing the wires no matter what hole you use

Yea run it from ur indicator lights, do not run it from ur dash, it will short out over time, and run the other cable to ur negative side of the coil, and presto,if u have an msd box their is a output for tach. Works great on all my cars
