Instrument lights

Hmm...here's a strange one for you guys.

My '67's instrument lights aren't working. The blinker indicators and high beam pony on the instrument panel work just fine, but the instruments won't light up. They did used to work, then gradually went intermittent where they worked most of the time, then less and less until they quit altogether. I made sure the dimmer was turned up; not the problem. Then I checked the fuse; not the problem. Finally I replaced the switch since the original was starting to show its age. It worked...for about a week. Then, same thing. They worked less and less often until they again don't seem to work. What the heck gives?!

Check the wiring going to the back of the cluster.

Yeah, sounds like a wiring (connection) issue ... when you swapped out the switch, you jiggled the wire enough it began making contact again <?> ... and now is has gotten disconnected again. Go check around your switch and track from there ...

Damn. That's what I was hoping not to hear. Took me 5 hours to get the instrument cluster lined up properly last time! Ah well, if I gotta do it, I gotta do it...
