    Interior

So I am wanting to redo my interior soon but it seems like it would be a big project. I went to a local upholstery shop and they quoted me at $2000. What i told them i wanted was recovered seats in black, black headliner, plastics painted, door panels recovered, console taken out, visors gone, swing light gone, and black carpet. Does this sound like a good price? I know very little in this area.

I put maybe $100 tops in mine and it looks DAMN good for the $$$. Try painting it yourself. Takes a good weekend to do but well worth it I think. I got a book for my car and that helped ALOT. winded up with alot of screws/bolts left over. Still have my dash to do then I'm 100% done.

well how did you do your seats? mine are ripped cloth so i cant paint them. Im getting rid of my console cuz its annoying! and the map light doesnt work and i never use the visors so all that is gettin tossed. but i dont feel comfortable doing the headliner. i could manage painting the plastics or even paying my buddy to do them possibly even the carpet. what should i do about the seats though? buy new front ones and just recover the back? or get them all recovered? im doing the dash pad and the gauge clusters myself along with the bezels for the shifter and a cover for the parking brake. and the door panels?

The headliner is one of the easiest and quickest to do. Buy the material and some beer and come by my house and I'll help you on one sat.

My back seats look and feel great!! The front seats came out nasty but I was in the cold weather and the sun wasn't out when I did those. Either reupholster the fronts or get new ones. I got a tear myself. I wouldn't paint cloth, it comes out all crusty even with the special paint. Door panels are easy to paint too. I went with flat black on mine and it came out really good. Word of advise on painting the interior, do a very light coat on the first 2-3 coats, helped me out alot!!

+1, took me about 5 minutes to put in my headliner. Took more time to relocate the screws for the visors and light then putting it in. Went to Roosevelt parts on 281 and took a gander around. Found all kinds of goodies.

I guess ill buy new door panels because the backin of mine are all rotted and broken along with warped. Im confident about painting the plastics and i guess the headliner since i will only have to go around 1 light and no visors. Maybe i should do this one step at a time. If i knew anyone that redoes interior personally i would rather have them do it.

It isnt hard to remove and repaint the plastics. Youll only learn it by doing it.
Dont be scared just get after it and figure out what needs to be done. All the stuff is pretty simple and straight forward if you research and read a little if you are unsure how to do it.....

Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens.

If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you weren’t a racist, you’d better vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot.

The Navy SEALS removed one Muslim threat to America ...
It's up to the voters to remove the other!
