brand new 2nd gens are hard to come by, the new ones are gen three. the 3rd gen 8gigs are the same as the 8gig 2nd gen with the new update. the new 3rd gen 32 and 64 gigs have faster processors and voice enabled.

so would a 3rd gen 8 gig be able to be jailbroken? i dont know shit about these things, and learning more everyday. i was told to look at an ipod forum and to search amazon for a nib 2nd gen.... looks like i have more homework to do.

yes they both can be jailbroken, just dont update to the newest software. i think its 3.1.2 or something like that.
