Any code reader/tuner with an OBDII port should work, it's not just a Ford thing
The scanner Ive got wont connect and read - its not a generic OBD2 scanner... its a tuner made for a specific platform. I need to get my buddy over here with his HPtuners and see if that will connect.

you can hit up your local autozone they'll check your codes for free.... thats what I did when I had an electrical short in the system.
who did you buy the motor from?

I got the code scanned with a generic OBD2 scanner. Wasnt anything crucial.
