Kotzur does great work. Although, it can take FOREVER to get it done.

What is the typical price range of these builders being mentioned.

I ask because I know of a builder that will build a 4v for me to handle up to 1k hp for about 4k. Not bad considering what some other places had quoted me.

Yea they have always done work for me at unbelieveable prices. It had always been like hundreds less than any other more expensive machine shop had quoted me.But yes it does take a long time, depending on whats getting done, but atleast i know that its going to be done right......

there is no cnc porter anywhere in south texas..

btw ALL cnc ported heads started out as a HAND ported head that they then copied into the cnc machine

cnc just allows for a much faster copy of the exact port over and over..

but a talented hand porter can repeat his work over and over as well just a cnc is faster at it.

If you go to the Mach1Registry.com there is a guy on there with the sn Nazman. Everything ever said about him has been great. He's known all over that registry on the magic he can do with the 4v head and even the intakes. He qouted me a price of $500 per head and $500 for a ported intake. If I ever get any port work done he'll be the one to do it.

That, and CNC porting is not as cracked up to be as it is made. Modular engines tend to like some turbulence in port work where as CNC machining cannot duplicate.

This coming from the guy who just hears things but has no actual first hand experience.
