Last week at the track

Well i went to the track last week, and was not really happy with my times. Hopefully it had something to do with the temp. outside or something. Since when i ran my car stock last time the best i did was 14.01. And now this time the best i could do was 13.8 which only happend once out of 5 runs. With all the mods i have. When i ran my car stock it was like 40 to 50 degress outside so. Here are a couple of my time slips. Both of them i am in the right lane.

Your 60'ft is nasty. You should be able to do a little better on street tires. On the stock tires the best ive had was like a 2.2 60ft'. On 275 Eagle F1s ive done a 2.12 but that was at sealy which I dont like.

I launch at 4K rpms and feather the clutch.

Dont feel to bad the best ive cut so far was a 13.6 with LTs, o/r x-pipe, cai, tune. This Tx heat sucks balls.

The heat killed me as well I only ran a 14.1 this weekend with a 2.3 60' early in the night, had shift point problems later in the night when it finally cooled off.

4.10 gears, x-pipe/mufflers, MAC CAI, BBK plenum and 75mm TB, diablo 93 tune and 315 street tires.

I kept bouncing off the rev limiter. It was a new occurrence since I had just installed the plenum and TB. Before hand I would only hit the rev limiter every once in awhile, afterwards I hit it at each shift. Dropped back the shift points and its all good now, but didn't get to run again after getting rid of the issue.

No its an automatic. Ya that was my first time out to the track and it was my best of the night. It went like this:

5:30PM - 92* outside with heavy humidity. Just drove 20 miles to track, but decided to run because nobody else was running. I ran a 14.3 (2.2 60') and the engine was HOT. Hit the rev limiter in 1st. Flashed the torque converter and had O/D on.

6:00PM - Let the car cool down, but the track heated up in the meantime to 93*. I ran a 14.1 with a 2.2 60' engine was still a little hot, but not bad. Lost traction for a moment when I hit 2nd gear. Flashed the torque converter and had O/D on.

6:50 - Track has cooled to about 87* but I get the great idea to run the car with Overdrive off. I had NO traction at all from 1st through 3rd and then it bogged down. Ran I 15.8. Which of course ticked me off.

7:00 - Decided to run again even with the hot engine. Overdrive is on. I line up next to a SRT-4 (Fox 26 News filmed us racing and we showed up on the news later that night lol). Even with the hot engine I ran a 14.0 and beat the Dodge Neon who ran a 14.3.

I decide to let the engine cool off for awhile.

8:10 - I change up the shift points to try and get rid of the 1st gear Rev Limiter Bouncing. Changed shift pressure as well. Its about 83* now and really humid. I hit the rev limiter in 1st and then in 2nd and decide to coast it out before I make it to the 1000' mark. I roll out a 15.8 again @ 57mph LOL.

I ran a couple more times but it took me till 11:30 that night to get the settings on the tune right and finally regain traction, but didn't get to run again with the good tune. I did manage a 99mph trap on one of the runs after 8:10.

im pretty sure in better weather you'd bust a 13.7-13.90, and anyways about that Tb/Plenum combo did you feel any gains? And well ive always drove 5speed stangs and was wonderin what does it mean when you say that you flashed the converter??

Oh the TB/Plenum feel great. The gas pedal feels tight, but thats not necessarily bad. Flashing the converter is just flooring it from the line basically, rather than just holding the break pedal and going from like 2000rpm.

BTW the 4.10s are great daily driving. A little loud at 50mph (feels better at 55mph) and a little loud at 70 as well, but I would've gone with the 4.30s if I knew then.
