leak oil

ok been couple weeks with my new intake, seems back of block pushed a cork gasket out and is leakin a lil bit oil down block.......sooo i get to take it all apart and re seal it again........so gasket to use felpro 1250???

seems drip is from passenger side rear of were block and intake section mates up.......so should i just use silicon gasket or use the cork as well??? this car is more then a pain in my ass at times........what should i do/use so i can be done with it 1 more time.

run a layer of silicone... they dont sell a rubber gasket for these cars? that sucks... i haven't built mine yet, and it's been a long time since i have built one..

Dont use the cork at all. Run a bead of RTV (silicone) acroos the front and back as well as a light bead around the water passages from head to intake. Carefully set the intake straight down into place try to avoid frt to back movement torque her down as per the sequence and all your troubles will be over.

nice tip don. it seems as popular as these motors are, they'd make a rubber gasket for them.. that really agrivates me now.

Ditch the cork and run prematex rtv beads on the front and back. Using the cork is just asking for trouble!

ok done again..........gasket stuff on........car runs great.....got my fingers crossed no more leaks on the rail.

I'd also get a new PCV valve and the grommet that it sits into on the intake, that is another hot spot for oil leaks on your engine.

I'd use silicone as well instead of those shitty cork gaskets . Black works well as does copper .
