Thumbs down Leaking X-pipe....

Sounds like it's coming from the front driver's side but I can't really tell. I tried getting under the car and listening for it while the wife hit the gas but it's so loud I can't hear the ticking.

Everything was super tight on both sides and the gasket was good when we did the passg. side, WTF? Any words of wisdom or should I just take it to someone?

After new exhaust componets are installed and heat up and cool down it causes expansion and recession. You MUST retighten all of the connections to insure no leaks.

I went under there and tried to tighten everything, everything was tight as can be. Should I give it a couple of days and try again or maybe get some liquid gasket?

Don't try any type of leak fixer's. The ball connection should seal perfect on there own unless there alignment is questionable or there damaged.

I installed my exhaust, had everything as tight as can be. Ended up with exhaust leak as well so I just took it to Alamo Performance and they machine tightened it all up for me for $10.00, can't beat that.

Try loosening it up and then when you retighten it, be vary careful to do each nut the same amount of turns, otherwise it will end up crooked. Did you get a CEL?

Lawrene,
I had this prob when I put my X pipe on. The pass side pipe has a ridge and the manifold has a recession it fits in. Mine was tight but still leaking. I loosened it a tad and pushed the pipe over and it popped in to the groove and the leak went bye bye.
Most likely this is where it is coming from.

Did you make sure there wasn't any cracks on the exhaust pipes near the flanges? I have that luck with mustangs on the passenger side.

Nope, Larry and I tried finding the leak on it yesterday and found where a weld is coming loose on the muffler itself. I have to take it to the dealer and see if they'll replace or repair the muffler.

Taking it 1st thing Thursday morning....
