lincoln mark7 brake problem

Ok I have a 90 LSC that the rear calipers were froze up so I changed them out...brakes, calipers, and pads....well we went to bleed them with no success. Does anyone know if this car needs to be hooked up to a scanner to allow it to bleed the brakes...fluid dripped out of the brakelines...just not compressing them now..

I couldn't it would not let me do the rear for some reason....I took the brake lines off and everything drained out....so I refilled and tried but felt the same as before I did the new brakes, roters, and calipers....and the anti lock brake light is on and the brake light...not sure if this is the real prob....and what it would be..

Sounds like air in the ABS valve which is a bitch to get out from what I hear.

I bet your master cylinder is going bad since you cant get any fluid to the rear. There is no automated ABS bleed procedure for that car.

don't think so...all I know is I changed everything out and there was fluid leaking out of rear lines....but the pedal just feels hard and won't go down any further....you pretty much have to stand on it to get it to stop...

UNHOOK THE BATTERY, FILL THE M/C WITH FLUID, AND LET THEM GRAVITY BLEED FIRST....KEEP A WATCH ON THE M/C FLUID...DON'T LET IT GO DRY, THEN BLEED THEM LIKE NORMAL WITH THE BATT STILL UNHOOKED...OR GO SOME PLACE AND HAVE THEM PRESS BLED..
