youll have fun in basic and ait i was surprised at how easy basic was. basicly more of a mental thing. even if you deploy i wouldnt worry to much about combat your mos sounds like itll keep you mostly in the fob's.
armys fun though time flys but maybe thats because im a combat mos

Hey man don't worry about being deployed. Because if you are or your not your still getting deployed. Just something you should be prepared for. YOU know army life if very easy except for the time your away. I've been in the army for 5 years and been deleployed for 2 1'2 and still serving my 3rd tour. All I got to say is basic is a breeze its tuff but when your done, look back and say it was some of the best times in your life and as well as ait you'll be to drunk to remember. Well anyway stay safe and don't give up.

I'm not at all worried about being deployed, it'd be a fun experience, and I might be able to shot some damn Iraqis mf's.
I have 2 cousins that went to Iraq for a while, one in a Bradly division and the other an MP.
But I have no intentions of backing out or worried about being deployed.

did you not read my last post?

and there a couple reasons why army over air force...
1.)I don't need a degree to fly, thus, reducing the time it takes to be a pilot by 4 yrs...
2.)Army, you get hella of a lot more benefits & bonuses, hell, I'm getting 8k just for being in delayed-entry
3.)I've already talked to about 15ppl including family who were or are currently in the army.

I've done my research, I know what I want, 20yrs. or maybe even 30yrs. Army career, I'll be a helicopter pilot in about 7-10yrs. depending how I play my cards. I'll be an NCO and pretty much doing whatever the hell I want. I'll be able to retire, have a nice house, support my kid, and have a nice collection of classic American muscle and some new American muscle, and I might open my own business restoring classic stangs.

i don't think Ive ever seen a NCO pilot only warrant officers. in the case of warrant officer a friend i know(who transfered to 3 corp) already put in his packet for warrant officer the only mos you can get already enlisted without previous experience is pilot so your chances are good but id look into trying to enlist has a warrant officer i tried but was short on college credits i believe you need 90 credit hours of college

Um...

a Warrant Officer is an NCO in the Army.
And I don't want to do the WO Program, I want to know the bird I will be flying, it is my job after all, CH-47 Helicopter Repairman, I'll be telling the WO's whether their bird is good to go or not everyday. And yes, I need a letter of recommendation to become and WO, but I'll get one very easily since I will know the WO's.

True, you won't be a pilot unless you're a warrant or commissioned officer

So I won't be able to see my son until Christmas
good luck, and atleast you will be home for Christmas. Make sure to make it out to the LSS Christmas party.

hey make sure you learn your general orders warrior ethos etc and pass a pt test if your recruiter hasn't told you. i believe you can get PFC e-1 pay sucks try to get PFC you'll be making about 200 more. and recruit your friends if they already are going in snatch them up anyway tell your recruiter 2k for the ones that pass basic. also see if they still have that 20k quick ship bonus i got one.
lastly if your married or have a kid make sure you have a decent account or a way to give them money make sure you get bas or bah in reception
DO not get the laundry service basic offers it sucks do your own laundry.
dont break a 240 either in front of your drill sergant and tell him you didnt break it i learned that lesson with a 3 hour smoke session.
fun stuff youll learn to love the 8 count push up iron mikes and roll left roll right
