LT headers on 2V

I drove a 99 cobra the other day with hooker LT headers and shorty Xpipe. Dammnnn it sounded good!! So I'm thinking about putting long tubes on my to-do-list for 2008. I've got a 99GT. Other than getting a shorty Xpipe and o2 sensor wiring extensions - what are the obstacles? Removing the starter? Loosening motor mounts? Raising motor? Around how much should I expect to pay on labor? Any body running LT's? What's average power increase on a NA 2V?

Lets just say, if you buy them for your car, spend the money once and be done with it. Buy either Bassani mid length, Hooker, Kooks, and possibly them CAM headers in e-bay. I have read that that are good, only problem, they do not come in ceramic coatings.

Look to spend anywhere from 600 to 1200 on the above mentioned except the CAM brand, they go for like 200-400.

Labor to install by a shop, look to drop at least 500-800 bucks depending on labor rate.

Long tubes are the way to go, stay clear from the shorties, just remember, you may have to get a matching mid pipe to work with them unless you know an exhaust shop who can fabricate a set for you.

The l/t's will be worth the money.....

TO do them, lift the engine and support it, drop the k-member, starter, rack, and steering shaft, remove the old then install the new with gaskets (spend some money there and also invest in stage 8 header bolts).
Or, buy a tubular k-member and love the extra room. Check my thread for my engine build that shows the room with the k-member installed and stock manifolds. I put the stock ones back in with a 3/8 impact gun and had room to spare.

They are not bad, but at the same token, not the greatest.

Question

Hey, I got my Kooks setup in friday, but now I'm really thinking about a K member and possibly lower arms/spring perches so the job is done just once.... Any thoughts?
