MAC Pro Chamber

anybody running the MAC Pro Chamber?
I use to own a UPR Xpipe (loved the rasp sound) but then went MAC H.
anyhow... just wanting to know how a pro chamber sounds before I buy a used one locally. I'm thinking the chamber has an internal "X" like design... so will it give off the distinctive rasp sound?

It really depends on the rest of the exhaust . I like the PC when used with a set of long tubes and the stainless steel MAC mufflers .

I think witht he mufflers you have it will be a bit deeper and you will still like the tone, but it will most likely be quieter at idle...

Side note, how loud is your set up at idle now?

current H sounds great and has a bit more rumble than my old X pipe at idle.
I was trying to figure out if a pro chamber has that distinctive rasp sound that the X pipes give off....

how to describe a prochamber....hmmm

deeper of all, x like design inside the box though it is more open. I love the sound. it sounds like a prochamber and thats the only way to describe it. It will be your most refined smooth sound of all 3. Always worth a try and would be my first choice on any mustang

you will not have the rasp of the x pipe. you will have some faint rasp upon desceleration at certain rpms but only a fraction of what the x does.

sounds like an x-pipe with nuts... ???? and that was with a stock catback and off road prochamber... not too loud... barely more noticeable inside the car, got tons of compliments outside the car but not annoyingly loud, could set off car alarms at will but not from the loudness... more from the rumble... the only reason i sold mine is cause it hung pretty low and i'm putting lowering springs on so i figure that would be the end of my prochamber...

you will be fine. the box is recessed. I had to adjust the angle of my mipipe off the LTs and it gave me alot of clearance. It really depends on how you install it as to hos low it hangs

Alright.... i saw this post and figured id throw my 2 cents lol.... On my old 2003 gt before i totalled it i had a full mac axhaust and i plan to do the same to my current mustang as soon as i get the money. Long tube headers, prochamber and catbacks... 2.5/3tips. You know how you dont really get to hear the true sound of the car because ur inside, lol i was in my garage the night after install with a long pole and the door open to the car and i was standing behind the car poking the pedal just to hear the exhaust for what it was. Haha i was out there for several hours in excitment. Heres what it sounds like...... oh and i hope youve got a nice speaker set up cuz it will help u hear the diff with the rumble and what not.

I will have to say tho that 97 pony lover is right about the hanging low thing..... i had the same problem. Had to be carefull around speed bumps and dirt roads. lol i think one time if i remember correctly i was playing on 59 and the highway dropped like an inch suddenly and the car swayed down and the prochamber hit.

I got hung up trying to back off of the alignment ramp at TireMax... had to get 2 peices of wood to put at the back of the ramp so i could clear it. I had a 1 and 1/4 drop using Ford Racing springs and that is wat is now on my new2002 mustang as well so i will have the same prob. It is a prob yes but the sound is worth it and if you complete the whole exhaust as i did from motor back the performance is very worth it lol.

I think of it like this, its a prob yes but make yourself aware of it before it becomes a problem, watch for it, be carefull where you drive and/or how you enter steap entrances and you should be ok. All in all if your car is only dropped kinda like mine the only prb ull have with it is minor scratching. Its not glass, it can handle the scratching. Just dont do any airborn stunts.... extreme offroading in dirt.... etc lol so that means when leaving a good action movie, hold yourself back.

Look below the car in these pics....

mine hung low until I actually put the bolts on lose, jacked up the box with a floor jack to get it as tucked as possible and then tightened the header bolts. why did it hang lowat first? becase I installed it in a driveway like most do.

It went from dragging badly to never touching speed bumps ever again.

purely an instalation issue

when we installed mine it was during a heads cam install in a driveway. It wasnt for another 2 years until I tucked it up enough on a lift.
