Mach 1000 install

Hello All I thought I might share this with you...

I just got my Mach 1000 wired in last week. If any of you are looking to upgrade your Mustang's system, but do not want to get rid of your stock look, the Mach 1000 is the way to go. I bought the head unit, subs, and amp rack from a guy on ebay. The new Mach 1000 head unit was a direct plug and play switch out for the Mach 460 head unit. However, you have to make sure that the head unit is from the same year car that you have. Somewhere in late 03 or early 04 the plugs in the back changed, but if you just wanted to use your original 460 head unit you can, and it will still work fine. To do this, find a Mach 1000 amp rack, and subs like you see in my trunk (make sure the factory harness is on the amp rack). Make sure that you also get the mounting brackets, AND nuts that belong with them. Then, go to ebay and there is a guy on there that sells a small splicing harness. This harness allows you to intigrate your amp rack and subs to your existing 460 wiring (this harness is needed). It comes with all of the connectors, wiring, and instructions to get your amp and subs working... My stereo hits great and I love it much better now. Any of you want to hear it before getting one, I go to biffs... Just PM me and I'll make sure I'm there for you to take a listen... I am sure that there are better aftermarket systems out there, but this is for the person who whats to keep their system stock looking and still get great low end HITS...

Cheers,
Dale

y2kgt,

I got the headunit, amp rack, subs and hardware for about $625.00. Just type in a Mach 1000 search in eBay...
