I am so Fraustrated! I have a new Stereo i want to install in my car but have problems getting the speakers to work. Dont know if the type of stereo makes a difference but it's a CD/DVD with screen. We went over the wire connections many times and i dont think we connected the incorrectly. We can see the stereo working but there is no sound. After Hours of Fraustration we just ended up putting the stock unit back in. I payed alot for the stereo and dont want to just have it stored. Please Help!

since you have a mach system you have to correctly wire the stereo to the amps not directly to the speakers. I heard that the amps have to be actually replaced when going with an after market deck most of the time.

also you are using a head unit with a screen, and there is more than likely a different sound set up with those, did you try a movie in it?

maybe you accidentally only wired the sound for video, but they should all run together... What type of deck is it if you dont mind me asking, and did you buy it new? If you got it used, you might be missing the brain, or another adapter. But it wouldnt even turn on w/o the brain.... hmmmmm

I would bypass the stock amps and just run new speaker wire to your stock speakers.
also if you search the board for "Mach 460" there is a detailed post about the workings of the system that may help you guys get it figured out.

I've had 2 96s with mach and in both I just wired them directly to the typical Ford radio harness. you MUST have the "Remote" (stereo side) connected to the "Power Antenna" or "Amp Turn On" on the aftermarket harness. Crew Cheif Lite had a similar prob and this advice helped her as well. again, do not run new wire to your speakers, just hook up the remote wire.

on the aftermarket harness there may be two blue wires. if there are then one is for power antenna and one is for the amp. if there is only one, then you have the correct wire connected. on the Stereo the is sometimes two blue wires. Power antenna and amp on. you say you have the Amp On wire on the stereo side connected to the blue wire on the vehicle side? if so then you should have sound. let me know if it stil doesn't work and you can bring it by my lot on Pat Booker and I'll get it to work.
