Mach 460 with a new headunit?

Will just swapping out the head-unit on an otherwise stock Mach460 make much of a difference? I really don't want to spend that much an an audio mod, but if the HU alone is worth it I might go for it.

Its best to re-wire all the speakers if you get a new HU cuz there is no need for the stock amps to be hooked up because the HU can push the speakers better.

ummm? OK, not really. Just installed a pioneer premier 590IB with stock speakers and amps and it sound sick!! why go through the trouble of rewiring everything, unless to install High end components? and nice amps? I have a 2000 with mach460 and the premier, it sounds so clean. Make sure you/ or whoever installs it does it right!!! I did mine myself and Its easy, sound so good. Get a Nice headunit, spend the extra bukcs on someting with a good EQ, or else it will sounds like crap, and get a small sub 10 or 8 depends on ur taste for bass.

I have a Jensen 7" touch screen on my car and speakers wasn't a problem. You might get issues when you install a sub tho. Here's my setup:

Depends on ur cars age. They dont make pussy HU these days. Im sure the HU's amp is better by far. But wtf do I know, its just my opinion.

New head units might claim to be able to push but I honestly would leave the stock amps connected, which is what I am going to do in a week or two. Most stock head units dont have the ability to push better than the amps in the 460.

Just wired up my alpine to the stock stuff, sounds good but with a little more tweaking on the eq it will sound great
