I had just "heard" it would make a big difference. Any suggestions for my next engine bolt on?

one thing i realized is.. the 5-7 bolt ons you can get for 1000-1.3K, wont get you anywhere as opposed to throwing aluminum heads on there for the same price.

most mustangs dont need anymore air than what they are already getting to the heads. therefore, to truly get a good power increase, mods must be made at or past the heads. however, its not a bad idea to do all the bolt ons necessary, then throw in the big stuff... just get a MAF that will accomodate the rest of your setup. plan everything out before you start buying or you will end up selling parts you just bought (believe me! experiencing this sucks!) haha.

however, i do agree with scottyboy. pullies rule. they dont CREATE more horsepower, but free up horsepower by reducing parasitic drag.:2thumbup:

The car is a daily driver and I have too many friends that have taken off their under drive pullies and sold them due to over heating.

IMO, u/d pulleys only benefit ya if you have a decent amount of HP over stock. I threw on ASP u/d pulleys as one of my first few mods and felt no difference. I wish I put that money somewhere else. All I got was a warmer a/c in stop-n-go traffic and longer time/money to my next mods. If I did it again I'd get them ONLY if I ran out of other mods to get (which would never happen ).

Throw on some subframes. It doesn't create hp/tq but, as a daily driver, makes a difference in the way it handles speed bumps, etc., by reducing flex.

your guys' a/c sucks then. i still have the original a/c equipment from 86 (cept a new liquid line), and i have underdive pulleys (the come in a set of 3 for my car), and my a/c still blows very cold, even in the middle of traffic.

about the not feeling a difference thing. in all honesty, i never felt a difference with any of my bolt-ons. the only thing i felt a real difference with was the gears. im sure you'd feel a nice addition with heads and cam though:2thumbup:

and whats wrong with having a 12 second daily driver?

ok, first, we already have aluminum heads....so that wont do you any good

2nd, i guess 2002gt got the wrong pullies, cause my steeda pulleys AND timing adjuster both gave me 1 mph each in the 1/4. which is damn good considering they are about $150 each, new.

next mod should be a real set of tires. if you dont want to do that, get some long tube headers.
