manual to auto conversion

so who has done a manual to auto converion on a fox body? i have a few questions.

1. how are you supposed to mount the auto shifter? the extra added tunnel is too high to put the center consol back in place. and if the tunnel is taken out the hole is WAY to big to mount the shifter.

2. how do you bypass the clutch switch under the dash?

3. what is the 2 wire harness that the auto trans dosnt use?

thanks in advance

oh and i have a A9P auto computer in it also.

I just put an auto in my 89 vert....I got it as a roller, it was orignaly a 5speed. I just fabercated some mounting brackets, and got some bolts that were longer than the orginal bolts and bolted it up.

Idk if its only on the verts, but I had to cut some metal out the way and beat the shit out of it with a hammer so the shift linkage would sit right.

I will get under my car and take some pics for you and post them up tomorrow, Cause I know I aint making a damn bit of sense.

There shouldnt be any problem with the center consol......Could you take a pic so I can see what your talking about?

OK. I didnt have time to jack my car up and take good pics, cause I worked on my wife's car all night after work. So the pics are not that great.

The red circled area is where I had to cut away metal and beat it with a hammer for the shift linkadge to sit right.

Hope these help some.
