Might be moving to H-town...

Well, I had an interview on Tuesday and it went very well. I may be hired as a "floating" manager with Red Roof Inns. My region would cover Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Laredo and Houston (where I will be based out of)...

If I get the job, I will be assigned to one of the bigger properties in Houston, but I don't know exactly which one yet...If anyone has some information on nice apartments at a decent price, please let me know. Thanks.

Rocky

Don't tease me!

You know I will help you out in anyway I can! I don't know what part of town you want to live in, but I hear the Fountains area is a GREAT place to live!

Look us up when you get into town ....

Well, I'll probably be living at the hotel for a month or two, but with the turnover expected in the region, I'll probably get assigned to cover a hotel fairly quickly. I will then be living on-property of THAT hotel until I am relieved to go back to my home-hotel. Concieveabley, I might not need to look for permanent housing in Houston until December when my g/f graduates from medical school and moves up to Houston to be with me. (we've already bought furniture together)

We found some nice places here , but I need to get a gauge of what "average" rent is. The housing on these properties goes for about $1100/month for 2bd/2ba. Is that about avreage, or can we find something less expensive?

move to the sugarland area one

and that's not too bad of a price.. they look nice. but we're in a 3 bedroom/2bath (around1300 square ft.) for about 1300 a month after you account for our two covered parking spots.

Holy Crap Man! That's average if your living in the middle of freaking town. You should be paying in the range of $700-$999 for a 2bd/2bth. We live in a REALLY NICE apt complex, one of the better ones around (in our area) and Jeffo nailed it.

why live in an apartment when you can rent a house for $1000/mo 3bd/2ba and 2 car garage for your babies... Unfortunately the location of the job vs. traffic seems to dictate where you live in Htown.

well.. we orginally wanted to move into a house when we moved to houston. (for numerous reasons.. like having a backyard, garage, etc..) but it turned out that most (if not all) of the nicer rental houses around town wouldn't allow any pets. and we just so happen to have a few. so we were kinda SOL.

We have pets too. You just have to call around. Some require a deposit, some don't. Go to Houston Chronicle and look under lease. There are many choices of areas of houston to live based on your preferences. Most homes in the 1000+ range are going to be reasonably sized. Except in the Heights areas where you pay more for location then home. Use this site Appraisal District once you get an address to get an idea of the appraised value, bed/bath counts, square footage, and lot size after you get an address from the owner.

**EDIT**
Since Bandit is already here I'm sure you got this info! :lol But for the original poster this may be helpful!
