If you are talking about a stroked 4.6...save your money.. just get a forged 4.6 assembly.

Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens.

If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you weren’t a racist, you’d better vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot.

It's up to the voters to remove the other!

Lots of great advice above. A forged 4.6 will get you most of the way to your goal.
    1) get forged rods and pistons
    2) save a little weight and get an aluminium block (look at the aluminator, MMR has aluminium blocks as well I think)
    3) Get some 4v heads + cams ("stage 2", "stage 3") appropriate for what you want to do.

    D.S.S. Modular Ford engines

DSS has iron blocks 5.0 strokers for $3450 and aluminum block strokers for $3650.

I've been thinking about doing that or just going with a Cobra short block + forged stroker kit for my blown 2V.

In mine though, I'll be using Trick Flows 2v heads.
