More noob questions... Strut Tower Braces and Intakes
1. What do the strut tower braces do? Can you guys really feel or see the flexing? Can you see the difference with the braces?
2. What does "PI" mean? I've been reading and reading and still haven't found that one. I see it in the context of intakes. 3. What does an intake spacer do? I saw it in a magazine article. They were adding bolt-ons to a 94-98 and an intake spacer was one of them.

1 Strut tower reduces body flex at the front towers. Yes you will feel a difference it will make the car feel much stiffer. and it will hydroplane more in the rain with the brace on.
2 PI means Ported Improved all 99+ mustangs have the PI heads. 3 Just an intake spacer is not going to make an improvment with your car. My recommendation is to go with a throttle body and upper intake combo. I have the BBK 75mm TB and the TrickFlow upper intake and it works good for me.

I'm not sure exactly why something about losing flexablity in the body but don't quote me, but personal experiance this is true!!!
Stock TB is 65MM Uppgrades would be 70MM or 75MM, but don't go to 75MM unless you get a diffrent upper intake that can support the 75mm.

What about subframe connectors?
I read nothing but good things about them but one of the guys at work provided a good counterpoint. He said subframe connectors could reduce the car's ability to absorb impact. Instead of collapsing to absorb the impact of a collision, a stronger frame will reduce the crush zones and lead to higher risk of injury to the passengers. Did that make sense?

Cool.
But you still recommend the C/C plates? I want to get springs that will lower the car an inch or inch point five.

I disagree. I believe all mustang chassis firs mod should be subframe connectors. It makes the car handle crisper and the body flex is near nil. And in the longrun you are less likely to have body sag that causes minor ripples in the body panels and A-Pillar cracks. JMHO.

Are there subframe connectors that are bolted on, not welded?
I don't auto-x and I don't plan on taking any corners at 50 mph. But the sidewalks in my neighborhood are weird. There's no curb but they have these ramps from the sidewalk to the street instead of the usual step. And these go continuous and not break where the driveways are. So my driveway has this short ramp that I have to take one wheel at a time or I'll scrape the car. My spousal unit's car has to do the same thing. So, at least twice a day, the car is going through some good twisting and flexing going from the driveway to the street and back. I'm thinking the subframe connectors might help minimize this and prolong the integrity of the frame. Man! There's some good learning for me going on here! Thanks all! EDIT: Here's a picture of my car in the neighbor's driveway. See the small ramp? Imagine how the car flexes as it goes up/down that ramp one wheel at a time.

I run subframe connectors..yes there are welded and bloted...go welded...I race so I worry about frame twisting...but the are cheap and i would do them to any mustang...there is a guy "tranny man jeff" on AAS that does bad arse ones for 125 welded and installed...that is the ones i have and i would recommend...

It will definitely help with the problem you're having with the driveway. I drive up and down a parking garage here at work and there are days when I can hear the body flexing. I really need to get my subs in.
