More on tips
I got the Mac catback system installed and I'm not 100% happy with the 2.5" tips. The factory ones on my GT were 3". I've seen other GTs with 3.5" tips and I think I like 'em.
I'm still torn between getting my stock tips welded back on, or go with 3.5" ones. Once again, I call upon your experience to help me out. 1) Where in San Antonio can I buy tips? 2) Can any muffler shop weld them in? No issues with welding stainless steel? 3) Do they weld on the hangers too? Thanks.

Try checking EBay for some tips. Magnaflow and Bassani tips look cool as hell and I think they're 3.5" or 4" in diameter. They can be welded on.....

You can pick up some 3.5in magnaflows at Midas. They have the rolled ones like the machs and the regular angled cut ones. I'm not sure on the price though.

I know that alot of tips (i know Basani for sure) just clamp on and don't need welded. If you can find some of those then you could just cut your pipes a little short and clamp on the tips. Just make sure you get them good and tight. Just ask JMG

I've seen those clamp on tips at Pep Boys. I'm not sure they'll work on my car though. The hanger is close to the end of the tailpipe tip. There's maybe 6 inches of pipe after the hanger. The clamp on one would be very visible. It looks like the best option so far is to go to a local muffler shop. There's one near my office that had these 18" long 3.5" wide tips and they said they can weld on a pair for $60. The shop looked shady though. I think I'll check out some of the big muffler shops first. I just have to make sure I like the 3.5" ones. I'm a little worried they might look too ricey. I've been searching and searching for pics of 99-04 Mustangs with 3.5" tips. I need to see one in person and also decide if I want slant cut or rolled. [I'm already laughing at myself for being so picky.]

I like rolled. Next time you see Johns car take a look at it. He has 3.5 bolted on. You really can't see it. When we first went out to the track we let his brother tighten one down, and it didn't get tightened properly (shoulda double checked him, oh well). Long story short he came back from one run with his tip about to fall off.

I've read about those loosening up. I plan to have some tips welded on.
John, got pics?
