Mufflers

I am getting my car soon, so since i'm just another teenager on a limited budget i'm wanting to buy some mufflers for my car that i can just get welded in until i can save for a catback system. What would you guys recommend? as far as sound goes, i'm looking for an agressive sound. Thanks guys/girls.

best bet is to keep an eye out for a used catback for sale. The money you spend on 2 mufflers (2@ $75 = $150), plus paying to get them welded in (I think it's like $50), you can just about pay for a used catback. You'll also get better exhaust flow with a catback that is mandrel bent. plus, you can install it yourself.

$200 for welded muffs vs. a litle more for a used catback (rent a sawzall for $15 to remove the stock catback, then sell the stock for a little cash. GT stocker is a good mod for a v6er).

i would say flows 2 chamber also, i have magnaflows right now, they are good and bad cuz they give you agressiveness at higher RPM's when you may want it, but are quiet at lower rpm's when you may not want to attract attention. Kinda a 'sleeper' muffler from my experience. some people think my car is just a modded six cuz its quiet, then i open up and I'm gone...

And you can get a pretty good deal on a used cat back on DFWStangs. I'll keep my eye out for one; I'm always browsing the f/s section over there :blkvnm:

keep an eye on eBay. I picked up a brand new pair of 2 chamber flows for $80 including shipping. I paid $40 to have them welded in from Ultimate Exhaust in Austin. :jeff: paired up with the o/r xpipe, it sounds like satans stang
