Is anything happening with the Mustang Fest scheduled for 10/1-3 in Port Aransas (www.mileofmustangs.com)? Looks like a good time.

Here is the itinerary!
PAYPAL CHECKOUT: The easiest way to register is with PayPal, using a bank account draft (e-check), credit card, debit card or transfer from an existing PayPal balance - it's easy to get a PayPal account and only takes a few minutes. Those who prefer to pay with a check or money order may send their check for registration to: HartCom World Media, P.O. Box 30441, Edmond, OK 73003-0008. Please include the current registration fee and write your shirt size in the Memo section of your check (sizes S-XL are free for first event shirt - add $2 for XXL, $3 for XXXL, $4 for XXXXL and $5 for XXXXL size). Shirt sizes larger than 5XL are not currently available. The default shirt size is XL - if you do not specify, you will receive an XL at check-in unless we have an extra in your size.
LODGING DISCOUNTS: Currently, both preferred lodging facilities are booking rooms for MustangFest. Pre-registrants receive a LODGING VALIDATION CODE within 24 hrs. after PayPal checkout. For those mailing checks, their registration number is assigned the day we receive their check at the post office. Last year, we had several last-minute cancellations from Oklahoma due to weather, so now ONLY pre-registered participants get the MustangFest DISCOUNT rates on Mustang Island. Each registrant has a one-room limit at these rates, and the savings are severe. Those who stay at The Dunes in a luxury condo get 10% OFF their already off-peak rates, saving you enough to buy lunch or a pair of tickets to the MustangFest LIVE Dinner Show on Friday night. Those of you who stay at Plantation Suites in a deluxe Double Queen suite will get $30.00 OFF each weekend night, for a savings of $60.00 - that's enough to PAY FOR YOUR REGISTRATION and have money left over! Standard rate at Plantation Suites is $99/night (sleeps 4 in two queen beds), but MustangFest registrants get $69/night - that's cheaper per person than many Motel6® locations! We will be adding additional lodging facilities as each property fills to capacity - even with last-minute cancels from Oklahoma last year, both properties FILLED UP to 100% OCCUPANCY! This year, the place to be in early October is MustangFest - get your registration in NOW. Not just a show... It's a Destination.TM
VEHICLE SECURITY: We will have security on the Mile Of Mustangs from HIGH NOON until 6:00pm, when Island Moorings Parkway is re-opened to thru traffic on Saturday evening. Local police officers will be around throughout the day on Saturday. Each lodging facility has lighted parking areas and interior security cameras (also exterior cameras at The Dunes - official Host Club Hotel). Night auditors view the security cameras at intervals determined by the property manager. As with all road trips in your Mustang, use the same caution you would in your own home town. Because of the value of many of the vehicles, we will ask the Port Aransas Police Department to apply special attention to our lodging facilities on Friday and Saturday night. As always, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your vehicle - lock all doors, do not leave valuables in sight and arm your car alarm if you have one. Mustang Island has a very low crime rate, as evidenced by the police blotter in the local newspaper - mostly about party people on the beach, etc. - Mustang Island is a great place to enjoy MustangFest in October... and a great Mustang vacation year 'round!
CRUISE & EVENT ITINERARY - Cruise To MustangFest: Departs Mustang, OK at 8:00a on Thursday September 30th and arrives San Antonio at 4:30p for an evening gathering and Mustang display in San Antonio. Lunch in central Texas - look for updated info on preferred lunch stops or possibly a 'free lunch' at a dealership (for Cruise To MustangFest participants and their passengers). Expect the lunch stop options to include location(s) from Fort Worth to Temple/Belton with about one hour allotted for lunch. Hi Barricade, no did not go last year, a friend (89 vert red and brown) went. Both plan to join the line of stangs this year. We were both at the Sames Crowe show. FYI, got the SC finished, just put in the UPR power pipe. Wish I had a place close to go fast legally!! FYI to out of towners, there are some great 1 & 2 bdrm condos off of Leeward ~20 mins from Port A. http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacat...and-Texas.html
